The magnificent St Peter’s Square is the main entrance to St Peter’s Basilica and the entire Vatican City. Designed in the 17^th century by Bernini, the square is home to gorgeous statues and fountains and it is one of the most impressive open spaces in Italy.

One of the largest and prettiest churches in the world, St Peter’s Basilica was built over the tomb of Saint Peter. Entrance to the basilica is free of charge but expect long queues, no matter the day or weather.
