Explore Vieille Ville (the Old Town)

The Italian character of the city is quite distinctive, compared with other French cities, especially in the Old Town of Nice or else “Babazouk”. A must – see for art lovers, this museum includes the permanent collection of various paintings, designs, drawings and sculptures of the artist, along with sketches for the decorations of the Chapel in Vence. This diverse ensemble of works was provided by Matisse’s family as a remembrance of Matisse and his life in Nice until 1954.

Lost yourself in Place Garibaldi

One of the largest squares in Nice, this area was designed in commemoration of the famous Nice resident, Garibaldi. A statue of the historical figure can be found in the middle, bordered by Baroque buildings. Fancy an early evening aperitif?
